LAMBAC or the LaCloche Manitoulin Business Assistance Corporation, is a Community Futures Development Corporation, funded by FedNor with a mandate to provide business resources to support business development, distribute small business loans, and support community economic development in our region.
LAMBAC serves businesses in the area from Walford through to Nairn on Highway 17, from Espanola down Highway 6 through and including all of Manitoulin Island, and the municipality of Killarney.
Our vision is of a Northern Ontario economy thriving with successful businesses and industry.
Our mission is to understand the needs of northern business owners, solopreneurs, CEO’s and industries and provide services that support their growth and prosperity.
FedNor, in collaboration with Statistics Canada, has produced an updated series of socioeconomic profiles for each of the 24 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) serving Northern Ontario. These profiles, which include data from the 2021 Census, provide detailed statistics on the demographic, economic, and social characteristics of the areas served by each CFDC.
We are pleased to share the socioeconomic profile for the LAMBAC region, available in both English and French. These profiles will be invaluable for economic development activities, strategic planning, and for providing advice to clients and community partners.
